Morlec Electrical is an electric motor repair workshop situated on Brisbane's southside. Established in 1993 and accepted as an Association member of EASA in 1995, we pride ourselves on quality workmanship with a professional approach to electric motors and associated machinery repairs. We are largely workshop based however we do cater for some onsite repairs where required.

ELECTRIC MOTOR SHAFT EARTHING If you're planning on running a large electric motor (150kw and above) on a VSD (Variable speed drive) please consider modifying your motor to suit. This will involve fitting an electrically insulated bearing to the non-drive end and a shaft earthing brush to the drive end of the motor. This will eliminate premature bearing damage and subsequent bearing failure due to shaft currents discharging through the bearings that are induced by the drive.
